John C. McIlwraith
Chairman AssureRx Health, Managing Director, Allos Ventures
John has been involved in a variety of early-stage venture initiatives throughout the region. In addition to his role with Allos Ventures, John also serves as a managing director with Blue Chip Venture Company and is responsible for its investments in Blue Chip Surgical, Endocyte, Inspiris, and Nine Sigma, among others. He is also a founding member of the Michigan Venture Capital Association board of directors, and is the advisory board president of the Northern Kentucky University Entrepreneurship Institute.
John A. Kraeutler
Chief Executive Officer, Meridian Bioscience
John A. Kraeutler has 40 years of experience in the biomedical industry. John has served as both CEO and COO of Meridian, guiding its development as a leader in the field of infectious disease diagnostics. Before joining Meridian, Mr. Kraeutler served as division Vice President, General Manager at Carter-Wallace, Inc. Previously, he held key marketing and technical positions with Becton, Dickinson and Company and Organon, Inc. Mr. Kraeutler is currently Vice Chairman of BIO/START, a Cincinnati-based biomedical incubator, and a member of the Ohio Third Frontier Commission.
George K. White
President & Chief Executive Officer, Diamond Healthcare Corporation
George White is a founder and CEO of Diamond Healthcare, the largest private manager of behavioral health programs in the United States. Diamond Healthcare clients span a diverse geographic and demographic range, from urban academic medical centers to rural critical access hospitals, including geriatric, adult, child and adolescent services, chemical dependency, and residential treatment facilities. Mr. White served previously as Chief Administrative Officer of private and not-for-profit facilities. He has received state and national recognition for his expertise in planning psychiatric and substance abuse treatment facilities.
John Steuart
Managing Director, Claremont Creek Ventures
John has 20 years of experience managing, building and investing in technology and life science companies. John focuses on the intersection of the information technology and life sciences markets including bioinformatics, molecular diagnostics, genomics, proteomics, software and instrumentation. John was a founder of Cybergold, an internet marketing and payment company that merged with Mypoints and subsequently sold to United Airlines. Earlier, John worked for Alafi Capital, specializing in investing in early-stage biomedical companies. John is an Industry Fellow at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at the College of Engineering and a member of the Advisory Council to the Lester Center's Berkeley Entrepreneurs' Forum at UC Berkeley.
Michael P. Venerable
Executive-in-Residence, CincyTech
Mike Venerable leads digital investments for CincyTech, a regional seed fund in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since 2007 CincyTech has invested in more than 20 seed/early stage technology companies in software, consumer digital, digital health care and bioscience. Mike began his career as an entrepreneur in the 1990's, founding and selling Talus, Inc., a data warehouse and analytics consultancy. After the acquisition he led the services organization for the acquirer, Sagent Technology, which went public in 1999. Today he works with CincyTech portfolio companies on strategy, capitalization and operational issues. He also serves as a director for ZipScene, Wearcast and Balanced Insight.
Brad Webb, PhD
Venture Partner, Claremont Creek Ventures
Brad Webb, PhD, is an experienced entrepreneur and investor in the biomedical and biotech companies. Following initial positions in research and development working on designs for post-cataract surgery intraocular lenses and supervising clinical trials/FDA processes for the 3M ophthalmic division, Brad led or participated in several start-up ventures in the ophthalmic products industry. He founded Vision Biology, Inc., which developed a revolutionary patented Viscoelastic Surgical Fluid for use during cataract surgery and later licensed to Alcon Laboratories. Brad received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Warren Hogarth, PhD (Observer)
Partner, Sequoia Capital
Warren Hogarth, PhD, an AssureRx board observer, specializes in energy, healthcare services, and software companies. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital, Warren developed fuel cell technology at the University of Queensland, was a visiting Fulbright Scholar to Princeton University, and a Guest Scientist at Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. Warren has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
James S. Burns
President & CEO, AssureRx Health, Inc.
James S. Burns has over 30 years executive experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and diagnostic fields. He has served in leadership roles ranging from commercialization, financial, business development, and general management within businesses ranging from early-stage companies to large multinational corporations, venture capital, and private equity. Jim has served in executive roles at EntreMed, MedPointe Pharmaceuticals, MedPointe Capital, Osiris Therapeutics, Healthcare Ventures LLP, Becton Dickinson, and Booz & Company.
